Winter Sports

Athletic and active in the winter – there are so many beautiful winter sports. Winter sports can be roughly divided into two categories – the sports in the snow and sports on the ice. Many of the winter sports disciplines are for the Olympic Winter Games, World Championships and many other national competitions. Many of the winter sports are suitable for laymen – but offer some very big risks and should only be used by professionals after appropriate training exercise.

Among the well-known winter sports including skiing in the snow – and regardless of whether they are alpine skiing, skiing – or Nordic skiing. There are also combinations with other sports like biathlon at the combination of sport shooting. Even many of the modern fun sports can be found in the snow: snowboarding, for example, is only a few years old. Among the adventures in extreme skiing heli-skiing or kite-skiing (the offshoot of kite-surfing in the country) should be mentioned. Z experiences with the animals belong to dog sledging. And for the small hill in the flat land join sledging or tire of them. Witzig is the newly invented the wok-discipline race with Stefan Raab. Every year wok World Cup is held and it is a huge spectacle in Winterberg.

The ice sports are next to the ice skating and curling, figure skating, ice fishing and ice climbing. It takes less snow than frozen surfaces. As a special kick is the sport Ice Racing when the men ride along icy trail runs on motorcycles.

Good clothes is also very important for winter sports. It can be really very cold outside but you will feel warm and comfortable in it.
