The Ski amadé ski area is nearby. It is Salzburg’s largest ski network. The Untersberg descent is recommended for daring skiers. Local skiers regard it as an insider tip. This steep slope has a vertical drop of more than 1,400 m. The Untersberg descent is about a 20-minute journey from the Untersberg cable car. However, it is a challenging run, so only truly experienced skiers should attempt it. Families have plenty of easier slopes to choose from.
Cross-country skiers can put themselves to the test at the winter sports resorts in Salzburg State. Families are also encouraged to visit beautiful Hellbrunn Palace and its famous Hellbrunn Park.
