Culture and history
The Chodské slavnosti festival has been held since 1955 and combines the folklore of Chodsko with the pilgrimage to Vavřinec.
The Chodský hrad in Domažlice is now home to the Muzeum Chodska. The exhibition there is rich and varied.
The Muzeum J. Jindřicha displays numerous folk-culture objects collected in Chodsko. It also has an extensive collection of reverse-glass paintings.
The remains of Domažlice's town fortifications date from the time of the town's foundation in the second half of the 13th century. Dolní brána dates back to around 1270, while Bezděkovská branka was probably built at the end of the 15th century.
In Horšovský Týn, the square serves as a visitor car park directly next to the chateau. A bicycle rack is available at the entrance gate to the chateau grounds; bicycles are not allowed in the chateau grounds.
