The Capartické louky educational trail is an approximately 2 km long, easy circular route through the southern part of the Český les Protected Landscape Area. It begins and ends at the car park in Capartice on the main road next to the bus stop. This car park also serves as the starting point for the Výhledy viewpoint with the statue of the local writer Jindřich Šimon Baar, for the Capartické louky educational trail, and for the marked hiking trail to Čerchov Mountain with the Kurzova věž lookout tower.

Nature and Trails

The trail follows paved and unpaved paths through easy terrain and is also suitable for small children. Play elements illustrate the effects of water. Čerchov Mountain is located in the vicinity of Capartice; Škarmanka Mountain is also nearby. The mountains of Dreiwappen and Spálený vrch are also located in the surrounding area.

History

Capartice was founded in 1705 by Count Jan Stadion to provide wood for the Stadion hammer mills and glassworks.

An old country road once ran through Capartice. At that time, the U zeleného stromu inn stood at the highest point of the village. Horse-drawn teams came as far as here to have heavy wagons hitched to or unhitched from them below Klenčí Hill.

In the wider regional surroundings of Capartice are the Schwärzenberg ruins and Chammünster with the parish Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
