Poběžovice offers historic sites and several themed trails. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was founded around 1500 and contains furnishings and works dating from the 17th to the 19th century.

Culture and history

The stone Japanese Zen garden in the castle park of Poběžovice is open to visitors. It commemorates the stay of Mitsuko Aoyama Coudenhove-Kalergi and her family, who lived at the Poběžovice estate as its last owners until 1945. The Chapel of St. Procopius was rebuilt in 2013–2014 and consecrated on September 26, 2014.

The Poběžovické pouťové slavnosti, held from August 21 to 23, 2026, include the traditional Panevropský půlmaraton, which will be held for the 18th time in 2026, as well as the Zámecké slavnosti in the castle park.

Nature and trails

The protected large-leaved lime tree of Poběžovice is approximately 360 years old and has a trunk circumference of 785 cm. A new trail from Poběžovice leads to this lime tree and offers two places to sit.

Several circular and walking trails explore different themes: the Městský okruh is a 4 km sightseeing circuit through Poběžovice. The Okruh Zámecký park is a 2 km educational trail presenting 13 selected tree species, the history of the park, and historical photographs. The Židovský okruh is a 5 km walking trail focusing on the Jewish history of Poběžovice. The Hřbitovní okruh leads for 3 km to three current or former burial sites in Poběžovice.

The Městské kulturní a informační středisko provides information about transport connections and helps with planning guided excursions.
