In the 18th century, alum was produced from alum shale mined in the extensive Salka pit.

Nature and Bodies of Water

Nová Pasečnice is home to a 2.97-hectare pond. A stream from the Ve skalách hill and water from a small pond in Stará Huť feed the pond in Nová Pasečnice. The Studená Bystřice forms a large part of the western boundary of the cadastral area of Pasečnice and joins a stream from Pasečnice to form the Zubřina.

The landscape also includes the protected “u Maksů” linden tree in the Stará Pasečnice district, which is approximately 400 years old, and the Salka rock cave on the wooded slope of Skalky hill. Its floor and the adjoining galleries are filled with water. In winter, icicles may be visible in the front part of Salka above the small lake.

Culture and Settlement Pattern

The “U Svarbů” agricultural homestead No. 38 is designated a cultural monument. On the left side of the “U Svarbů” farmyard stands a single-storey log-built dwelling made of round timber. A perimeter wall with a round-arched vaulted wicket gate and a gate adjoins the “U Svarbů” dwelling.

Pasečnice has a highly scattered settlement pattern; the buildings are surrounded by wild trees and accessible from many sides.
