Pivon: Hotels and Accommodation
The former Augustinian monastery complex is located on the southern edge of Pivoň. It is a national cultural monument.
Culture and History
The monastery with the Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary was founded in the 13th century. The church’s Early Gothic presbytery is considered the oldest purely Gothic building known to date in the Czech lands. Pivoň Monastery was reconstructed in 2024.
The statue of Saint Cyriac in Pivoň is also designated as an immovable cultural monument.
Nature and Surroundings
Pivoň is located in the Český les Protected Landscape Area. Mount Škarmanka is situated near Pivoň; the mountains Železný vrch, Jacklberg and Kleeberg are also located in the surrounding area.
“Pivoňské lípy I” is designated as a group of memorial trees.
