Nature and Trails
The Luhy Litovelského Pomoraví educational cycle path begins in Horka nad Moravou and runs for 17 km along paved forest paths. Also in Horka nad Moravou, Sluňákov combines an open-air gallery with a natural area that serves as an entry point to Litovelské Pomoraví. Most of the area is freely accessible.
Těšíkovská kyselka is documented as an iron-rich mineral spring; its surroundings serve as a starting point for hiking trails in the foothills of the Nízký Jeseník. In the Javoříčko Caves, almost 800 m of passages and dripstone halls are open to the public. The Mladeč Caves are an important archaeological and paleontological site, with finds including prehistoric human and animal bones as well as stone tools.
The Bílá Lhota Arboretum covers almost three hectares. Hundreds of tree species grow there, along with Japanese maples, alpine plants, and aquatic plants.
Culture and History
Bouzov Castle is furnished with paintings, works of art, historic furniture, and specially made furnishings. On ceremonial occasions, visitors can also see two functioning drawbridges and a portcullis there.
The Hanácké Museum in Příkazy preserves a well-preserved complex of Haná clay buildings with orchards, three traditional barns, and a replica. Fort XVII in Křelov houses a permanent exhibition on the history of Olomouc's fortifications, as well as a military collection.
Svatý Kopeček is a traditional pilgrimage site whose focal point is the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. The Svatokopecké Museum presents an exhibition on the history and present of this pilgrimage site.
Leisure
Park sportu Hrubá Voda offers a bobsleigh track, a treetop trail, horse riding, disc golf, mini golf, archery, and an underground labyrinth from slate mining. The Sportovní areál Sobáčov is located on the Litovel–Bouzov cycle route and offers sport fishing, a restaurant, camping cabins, beach volleyball, and an outdoor smoking area.
The Veverák rope park on Svatý Kopeček has 47 obstacles distributed across three courses. Olomouc Zoo features extensive sea aquariums with sharks, piranhas, and coral fish. A lookout tower at the zoo offers views over Olomouc and a considerable part of Moravia. A seven-kilometre educational trail through the forests of Svatý Kopeček begins near Olomouc Zoo.
Arrival and Transport
Olomouc is an important railway junction; the main railway station is located near the city centre. Fast trains as well as InterCity, EuroCity, and regional passenger trains operate there. The local transport network is served mainly by trams and buses.
