Within the protected area of the Bystřice Valley, the cadastral territory of Hlubočky includes a section of the Bystřice Valley stretching over 751 hectares between Smilovský mlýn and Hlubočky. The landscape is predominantly characterised by well-preserved species-rich and acidophilous beech forests; small areas of ravine forests are also found, while in the south there are oak-hornbeam forests and dry acidophilous oak forests, as well as remnants of mesic and wet meadows in the river floodplain.

Nature and Trails

The Hrubovodské sutě Nature Reserve is located on the slopes along the right bank of the Bystřice near Hrubá Voda, a district of Hlubočky. It protects a geomorphologically diverse area with natural and near-natural forest ecosystems of the 4th and 5th forest vegetation zones. These include beech, fir-beech, ravine and riparian ash-alder forests, as well as characteristic, endangered and regionally declining wild plant and free-living animal species.

The Údolím Bystřice educational trail is a 13-kilometre, blue-marked route between the Domašov nad Bystřicí and Hrubá Voda railway stations. It is not a circular route and has 11 stops focusing on the nature, geology and history of the landscape along the Bystřice River in the deeply incised valley of the Nízký Jeseník. The Hrubík the Goblin educational trail is over 1 kilometre long and offers seven informative and entertaining stops for families with children.

Leisure Activities

The bobsleigh track in Hlubočky has 17 bends, including 10 left-hand bends and 7 right-hand bends. It also features two 360-degree carousels, a 45-metre-long bridge and a 9-metre-long tunnel.

The Kamzíkova stezka treetop trail at the Hrubá Voda resort is a system of climbing elements, slides and a rope maze at a height of 13 metres, suitable for children and adults.

Culture and History

The filial Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is located in the village square of Hlubočky near Školní Street. The Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows is located in Mariánské Údolí near the Moravia factory.

Hluboký Castle is located in the valley of the Bystřice River between the Hrubá Voda and Hrubá Voda–zastávka railway stations, in the cadastral territory of the municipality of Hlubočky. The noble residence was built on a rocky, tongue-shaped spur which the river flows around on three sides. The first surviving written record of Hluboký Castle dates from 1351.

In the immediate vicinity of Hlubočky are the named hill “(Kluče) [Olomouc-Lošov] outlook p.” and the named mountains Skalice and Růžový Kopec. Also in the immediate vicinity are the named church buildings Kostel Panny Marie Sněžné and Kostel sv. Michala, as well as the named park Čechovy sady. The named mountain Stráž is located near Hlubočky; the named Vildštejn castle ruins are situated in the wider regional area.
