For around three centuries, pilgrims and other visitors have been travelling along the pilgrimage route from Olomouc–Chválkovice via Samotišky to Svatý Kopeček.
History
The place name Samotišky first appears in a document issued by the Bishop of Olomouc, Jindřich Zdík, in 1141. The Svobodný dvůr in Samotišky was probably established in the second half of the 16th century. The remains of a Slavic settlement were discovered during the extraction of brick clay.
For the Svatofloriánské hody held in May, the municipality has published a yearbook every year since 1994. Construction work on a wayside shrine was completed on 1 May 2004. In 1931, a chapel, more precisely a bell tower of the Czechoslovak Church, stood on municipal land near the primary school.

Skalice, Růžový Kopec and Stráž are mountains in the vicinity of Samotišky. Čechovy sady Park is also located nearby. On the final section of the climb from the built-up area of Samotišky to a meadow near the pilgrimage church, six statues erected on tall columns together form the so-called Bolestný růženec complex. The Poutní alej na Svatém Kopečku is an example of Baroque landscape architecture. The Poutní alej and the basilica on Svatý Kopeček, together with the side residences, form a spatial Christian cross.
