Stadlberg is Miesbach’s local mountain, offers lovely views and is easy to reach. The Achtsamkeitsbergweg (Mindfulness Mountain Trail) over Kleinthal starts at Stadlberg. The route is approximately three kilometers long and passes seven stations. They focus on mindful awareness, walking and breathing, gratitude and observing nature; a simple mindfulness exercise from yoga is also included. With its shorter distance, the trail differs from the circular routes described here, which are about eight kilometers long.

The family-friendly Miesbach Stadlberg circular route starts at Habererplatz, right next to the town square. It is of moderate difficulty, 8.1 kilometers long and takes two and a half hours; there is an opportunity to stop for refreshments. The equally family-friendly circular route through the “Untere Wies” is easy, 8.0 kilometers long and takes about two hours and 15 minutes. For comparison, the main points to consider are the level of difficulty and time required: the distances are similar, but the stated difficulty and duration differ.

A shorter option is the easy outing to the former Schloß Wallenburg: the circular route starts at Miesbach railway station, is 4.7 kilometers long and takes one hour and 15 minutes. There is also an opportunity to stop for refreshments. The easy “Mit der Bahn in die Berge” (By Train into the Mountains) route follows a different course: it leads from Miesbach railway station via Agatharied to Schliersee, is 8.6 kilometers long and takes about two hours. Urban culture, museums and culinary delights

The Waitzinger Keller cultural center in Miesbach hosts operas, operettas, musicals, cabaret, concerts, children’s and traditional customs events, and exhibitions throughout the year. The variety ranges from stage performances and music to events for children and exhibitions; the program may change over time. With a core collection of more than 3,000 objects, the Miesbach Local History Museum presents the natural and cultural landscape of the Oberland region. Examples from the collection include Miesbach furniture painting, religious folk art from the Miesbach pilgrimage era, and tools and equipment from guilds and trades, as well as from home and farm. A farmhouse parlor, a shoemaker’s workshop and a hatmaker’s workshop illustrate further aspects of the collection. The original Miesbach traditional costume is also preserved in the town as a unique cultural asset.

The Miesbacher GENUSStouren combine a culinary journey through time with regional specialties and international dishes. Participating businesses include shops, cafés, bistros, restaurants and trendy bars. The Green Market follows a regular weekly schedule: it is held on Thursdays from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the market square.
