Kreuth stretches from the southern shore of Lake Tegernsee through the broad Weißach Valley to the Tyrolean border. The municipality ranges in elevation from 725 metres at Lake Tegernsee to the 1,862-metre summit of Halserspitz. Geographical Location

Kreuth is located in Upper Bavaria in the district of Miesbach and is part of the Tegernsee Valley. At Ringsee, the municipality directly borders Lake Tegernsee. Several local rivers and streams run through the municipality, including the Weißach, the Sagenbach and the Schwarzenbach.

Culture and History

Wildbad Kreuth is associated with a medieval healing spring, a later bathhouse and a chapel. The Leonhardifahrt is a Kreuth tradition in honour of Saint Leonard and rural life.

Tegernsee Abbey is located in the surrounding area of Kreuth. The wider regional area is home to a castle and pilgrimage church, the parish church of the Assumption of Mary in Bad Tölz, and the branch church of St. Korbinian in Dettendorf.
