The Vitalwelt is a possible starting point for the loop. The adjacent Kurpark lets you choose which direction to walk. Hikes with different focuses
Nearby, the Josefsthal Waterfalls are on the southern side of Schliersee, in the Neuhaus district. The hike there is rated moderate, is about 2.8 km long and takes around 1.5 hours. The Schlierseer Kirchendreiklang offers a different kind of walk: this two-hour hike connects Christuskirche, St. Sixtus and St. Georg. Dates run from February 19, 2026, to February 11, 2027; check the current schedule before your visit.

Museums and churches in Schliersee
The Markus Wasmeier Open-Air Museum Schliersee is designed as an Old Bavarian farming village, with historic buildings faithfully reconstructed in detail. It showcases traditional crafts such as shoemaking and blacksmithing, as well as beer brewing based on historical methods. The demonstrations on offer may vary by date.
The Schliersee Local History Museum has been housed in the Schredl House since 1916. The house was built in the 14th century. The museum’s history and the age of the building are therefore far apart: the museum has used the building since the early 20th century, while its origins date back to the Middle Ages. Every year on December 31, the Schliersee Local History Society invites visitors to a year-end event at the museum.
St. Sixtus Church also brings together different historical periods. It was built between 1712 and 1715 on the site of a medieval predecessor church. The Throne of Mercy by Erasmus Grasser dates from 1490. Johann Baptist Zimmermann created the ceiling frescoes and stucco work. The church’s architectural history and artworks offer different points of interest for a visit.
