Landscape
Hutisko-Solanec lies in the foothills of the Beskids. The municipality stretches from the valley of the Solanecký potok stream at 450 m to the summit of Tanečnice at 911 m.
The “Poskla” natural monument consists of three separate, nearby areas: Poskla I to III. They are located in the Vigantická pahorkatina within the Rožnovská brázda, at elevations of 495 to 565 m and approximately 1 km north of the center of Hutisko-Solanec.
Geographical Setting
Road II/481 crosses the municipality and runs from Prostřední Bečva via Soláň to Velké Karlovice.
Culture and History
The “Hasičské muzeum” displays historic firefighting equipment from local and surrounding fire brigades. This includes a fire engine pump from the workshop of the Pařík brothers, which has been owned by the local fire brigade since 1933 and is still operational.
The masonry church in Hutisko-Solanec was built in 1748 after the previous wooden church burned down. The “Památník Charlotty Garrigue Masarykové” monument consists of a block of sandstone with a plaque and a bust of Charlotta Masaryková on the front.
Dožínky, a harvest festival, is traditionally celebrated in Hutisko-Solanec.
Additional Local Amenities
The cycling excursion “Na umělci políbenou Soláň” runs through Hutisko-Solanec from Vigantice to the Soláň ridge. The area around Hutisko-Solanec has 300 km of cycling routes, most of which run along field and forest roads.
The “Koupaliště Hutisko-Solanec” outdoor swimming pool has a newly renovated 50-meter pool and a smaller children's pool. The swimming pool complex includes a campsite for tents and caravans, a playground, sand tennis courts, and a children's area.
