On the northern side of Mount Radhošť, in the Průsek area, lies the Pod Kaplí ski slope. It is 447 metres long. The Pod Kaplí ski lift has a capacity of 450 people per hour, although its operation depends on snow conditions. In winter, there are also groomed cross-country skiing trails from the Mír chalet via Pustevny to Martinák.

Landscape and Trails

Dolní Bečva lies in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids below Mount Radhošť. The northern boundary of the cadastral area of Dolní Bečva also forms the district boundary and runs along the ridge of the Radhošť Beskids. The village is a starting point for hiking trails to Radhošť. Cycle Route No. 6260 Bečva also runs through the Rožnov Valley and Dolní Bečva.

Bus route 762 runs from Rožnov pod Radhoštěm via Dolní Bečva towards Pustevny. The associated timetable is valid from 14 December 2025 to 12 December 2026.

Culture and Architecture

Pustevny is known for the picturesque wooden buildings designed by architect Dušan Jurkovič. Attractions at Radhošť visited by tourists include a statue of the pagan god Radegast and a chapel dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius.

Dolní Bečva itself also has noteworthy examples of various architectural styles. The parish church of Saint Anthony of Padua was built and consecrated in 1907. In the Horní Rozpité valley stands a brick chapel with a bell, built in 1848. A wooden bell tower is one of the village’s architecturally interesting buildings; the village also has buildings featuring traditional folk architecture.

Valašský golfový klub operates a public nine-hole golf course that is also open to golfers without a playing certificate. The Valašský golfový klub complex lies in the cadastral area of the municipality of Dolní Bečva; the grounds include two tennis courts. The sports complex on the Bečva in Dolní Bečva also includes a beach sports centre.

Regional Specialities

VKP operates a factory outlet in Dolní Bečva offering sausages directly from the producer, traditional slaughterhouse specialities, and fresh pork, beef and chicken. At the VALAŠSKÉ DOBROTY stalls, visitors can sample regional Wallachian specialities such as sheep’s cheese, Korbáčiky and Frgál.

A neighbourhood feast featuring homemade sauerkraut is held repeatedly in Dolní Bečva. The fourth edition took place on 24 January 2026; another edition was announced for January 2027.
