Mountains, nature and trails
Malenovice is a starting point for climbing Lysá hora. At 1,323 m, it is the highest peak in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids and the Těšínsko region, and it lies within the cadastral area of the municipality of Malenovice. The Lysá hora educational trail comprises 15 stations with information about municipalities, mountain disasters, caves, predators, Wallachians, woodcutters and mountain forests.
The section of the Satina waterfalls that is particularly attractive to visitors is about 1 km long and in places has the character of a gorge approximately 15 m deep, with several waterfalls. The Malenovický kotel nature reserve encompasses the valley of the Satina stream as well as the adjacent western and northern slopes of Lysá hora and Malchor.
The Na Konečné paid car park costs CZK 70 for a full day and is a starting point for trips to Lysá hora or the Satina waterfalls.
Culture and notable places
Ondrášova skála, a large sandstone block, lies along a yellow-marked hiking trail from Malenovice to Lysá hora. Local tradition holds that Ondráš was chosen there as the leader of his followers.
Ondrášovy díry form a 250 m long system of fissure passages and domes up to 30 m deep. They are inaccessible due to the risk of falling rocks and rock debris.
Ivančena is a traditional pilgrimage and meeting place for scouts from across the Czech Republic. The pilgrimages continue to this day: on the Saturday around 24 April, scouts from across the Czech Republic gather there, and on Sunday, tramps come together.
