In Jablunkov, the Museum of Tripoint is housed in a building with a Renaissance core dating from the 16th century, making it one of the oldest brick buildings in Silesia. The building is traditionally known as the Prince's House and became the property of the Těšín princes from the Piast family in the second half of the 16th century.
Culture
The Museum of Tripoint features a permanent exhibition entitled “Landscape and People”. The World Bible Museum is located in the Old Monastery in Jablunkov. Its collection currently comprises around 5,000 exhibits; the oldest date from the second half of the 16th century, including items from 1540, 1549 and 1556/57. The “Jablunkov History Trail” has 17 stops.
Events
Every year, the Jablunkov parish organises a pilgrimage on the Feast of Corpus Christi. The “Jackové dětem” children's folklore festival takes place in June. On the first weekend in August, Jablunkov hosts the “Gorolski Świento” folklore festival, which is considered the oldest festival in the region.
Nature and Trails
The “Nature of the Jablunkov Region” educational trail is located in the cadastral area of the city of Jablunkov and is 8 km long. Information panels along the trail provide information about the flora, fauna and waterways of the Jablunkovsko region.
The Jablunkov municipal forest includes a park with stone sculptures, a pump track and a nature trail. There is also a nature trail in the municipal forest leading to a water source. The arboretum of the Jablunkov Sanatorium contains 350 species of trees, shrubs and perennials. The park of the Jablunkov Sanatorium features sculptures by Jan Tříska and Vincent Makovský.
