Palkovice: Hotels and Accommodation

The Palkovice ski resort has two downhill runs.

Nature

The Palkovické hůrky Nature Reserve protects natural woodland typical of the northern foothills of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids.

Culture

The Church of Saint John the Baptist in Palkovice was built of stone in 1631. It is a single-nave church with a vaulted presbytery and is also considered valuable architecture from the period of the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648).

The Chapel of Saint Maurice is a brick-built late Classicist chapel erected in 1851. Its floor plan is rectangular; its design includes a semicircular apse and a gabled façade, while the exterior is articulated by pilasters and lesenes.

Hiking

The Janáčkův chodníček trail focuses on the local nature, monuments, the composer Leoš Janáček, and the history of the area around Hukvaldy. It is best reached by car or public transport.

Myslíkovské Lurdy comprises a chapel carved into the rock with a statue of the Virgin Mary and an entrance to a pseudokarst cave. It can be reached via a walkable hiking trail that continues for more than 250 metres from the road.

Leisure

On the border with Frýdek-Místek, the Olešná Reservoir is used for recreation, water sports, and sport fishing.

The Palkovické vinobraní, a grape harvest festival, is held regularly in Palkovice.
