Nature and Landscape

The Opukový lom Lukavice quarry is an important landscape area of the municipality. It is home to heat-loving herbaceous and shrub communities; the area also includes a hillside meadow with protected plant species.

In Uhřínov-Benátky, wet, unfertilized meadows have been preserved in the Kněžná valley. They support the rare dusky large blue butterfly.

Hiking

A 22 km round-trip hike leads from Lukavice via the Uhřínov-Benátky natural monument landscape and the Podolí-býv. osada signpost to the source of the Kněžná. The route is marked with green and yellow hiking signs.

Visitors to Uhřínov-Benátky should stay on the paths and not enter the flowering meadows.

Culture and History

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in 1783 and is considered Lukavice’s most significant cultural monument. A protected crucifix stands beside the entrance gate to the church grounds.
