Museums and Venetian Buildings

The Museo etnografico della gente contadina d’Anaunia in Casa Marta is dedicated to the farming tradition of Anaunia. The Museo dei costumi in Casa Marta displays traditional costumes and folklore from around the world. Casa Marta is a Venetian palace with origins dating back to the 16th century. Following extensive restoration work, Casa Marta was opened for exhibitions and events.

The Museo del Legno di Coredo is housed in Coredo’s historic Venetian sawmill. The Museo del Legno features a permanent open-air exhibition offering a sensory and tactile experience with wood.

Palazzo Nero and Castel Coredo

Palazzo Nero was the seat of the judiciary from around 1460 to 1475. The Sala del Giudizio contains a fresco cycle featuring an Austrian adaptation of the stories of Saint Genevieve. The present-day building of Castel Coredo dates from 1726. Castel Coredo can only be visited by prior reservation as part of a guided tour at scheduled times; independent access is not possible.

Trails through Forests and Landscapes

Viale dei Sogni is a flat forest trail suitable for everyone. It follows an old irrigation canal called a “lez” to two lakes and a recreation area. Predaia Arte Natura is an accessible circular trail that begins near Parco “Alla Torre” above Coredo, in the Dossi area. The route from Coredo to the Santuario di San Romedio passes two lakes, a small waterfall and a biotope.

The Gran Tour Predaia Gravel is a 49-kilometre cycling route with 1,630 metres of elevation gain that heads towards the Laghi di Coredo. For this cycling tour, the route length and elevation gain therefore provide specific information for planning your own tour. The various route profiles thus range from a flat forest trail and a circular route to a long gravel tour with substantial elevation gain.

Lakes, Park and Wooden Sculptures

The Laghi di Coredo e Tavon are artificial basins separated by a dam. They were built in 1958 for irrigation. The Due Laghi area is also known as Località Palù and features a large equipped park with picnic areas, a beach volleyball court and a large children’s playground.

The Simposio Internazionale di Scultura su Legno takes place every August on the shores of Lago di Coredo. The finished sculptures are placed along the path. The sculpture “Le Streghe” by Gianni Mascotti is connected with the Inquisizione d’Anaunia of the 17th century in Coredo. Sport fishing is possible in Lago di Coredo without a fishing licence if a permit is paid for.
