Castello di Fiemme and Molina di Fiemme

Castello di Fiemme is a historically developed village in a wide, sunny meadow basin. Molina di Fiemme lies along the Avisio stream at the entrance to Val Cadino.

Circular Trails and Nature

At Dos Zelor, a circular trail just under 2 km long leads along rural roads and meadow paths. Information boards explain the landscape, nature, traditions and history. The distance of just under two kilometres provides a specific indication of the length of this walk.

The Riserva Locale di Brozin features a walking loop of approximately 3.5 km, with 15 information boards and three access points. The Riserva Locale di Brozin is of particular botanical, floristic, faunal and geological interest.

Lago di Stramentizzo is an artificial lake that holds back the water of the Avisio stream. On 5 July 1956, the former village of Stramentizzo was flooded by the artificial Lago di Stramentizzo; the stone portal of the former church has been preserved.

Historic Traces and Religious Buildings

In 1975, Dos Zelor was designated a cultural monument of regional interest and included in the historic heritage of Val di Fiemme. At the eastern edge of Castello di Fiemme, Dos Zelor also commemorates an ancient village that originated around 2,000 years ago and has since been buried. Archaeological findings have confirmed the existence of this village.

The Chiesa di San Giorgio Martire was built between 1850 and 1856 on the site of the former Eppan castle. It was consecrated in 1864 and restored in 1925. The Chiesa Parrocchiale di Sant’Antonio in Molina was built between 1846 and 1852 next to the Croz del Cogòl rock.

The Chiesetta della Madonna di Lourdes north of the Chiesa di San Giorgio originally featured Gothic forms, which were adapted in later periods. The Chiesetta della Madonna di Lourdes was consecrated in 1216.

Castello di Fiemme has four medieval buildings known as “case romane”. The Segheria Veneziana is a historic sawmill on the Rio Gambis. The Segheria Veneziana was built in 1888 and powered by a three-metre-high wooden gravity water wheel.

Cross-Country Skiing and Other Activities

The cross-country ski trail in Val di Fiemme can be divided into four sections. The trail runs from its lowest point at Molina di Fiemme, at approximately 800 metres, to Moena at 1,200 metres. The four sections provide a clear structure for planning the route.

The Bike Express is a shuttle with 50 seats and a bicycle trailer on the uphill route from Molina di Fiemme to Canazei. For activities on the water, Adventure Dolomiti Rafting offers rafting descents preceded by a short theoretical and practical briefing.
