Nature

The Colline de Comboire provides refuge for tawny owls, peregrine falcons, European beavers and European green toads.

The Franges vertes de Seyssins are home to the biodiversity of dry meadows, including orchids, butterflies and rabbits.

Culture

The Church of Saint-Martin preserves a basilical architectural style of Roman origin. Its capitals have been classified as historic monuments since 1908.

The Fort de Comboire was the last fort built in the Grenoble area, between 1882 and 1885.

The present-day Château Le Harivel du Rocher was built in 1613. The Tour Saint-Ange is one of several fortified houses in Seyssins.

Routes

An intermunicipal cycle path connects the two banks of the Drac via the Passerelle du Rondeau.

The hike to Fort de Comboire can be started at the Pré-Nouvel eco-district; the route is signposted with yellow markers.

The Via du Tram is 38 kilometres long and has a total of 1,240 metres of elevation gain and loss. It follows the remains of the former tram line that once connected Grenoble with the Vercors Plateau and is designed as a sporting and cultural-historical route for hiking or cycling. The route can be completed by mountain bike, electrically assisted mountain bike or on foot.

Histoire de la Plaine is a marked cultural-historical circular trail open to everyone.

Events

Since 2017, Seyssins and Seyssinet-Pariset have collaborated as part of the joint cultural programme Les Vagabondes. The annual season takes place, among other locations, at the Church of Saint-Martin, one of five venues.
