Activities

Horseback rides and horse-riding treks are offered in La Ferrière, in the valley or along the ridges. At Clos de la Vallée Blanche in the hamlet of Le Mollard in La Ferrière, you can enjoy cani-hiking and dog-sled rides on a Dogscooter.

By reservation, Husky mon Copain offers a themed day featuring an excursion with dogs – either mushing or cani-hiking – and a guided tour; this experience is available from April to the end of November.

The “Le Tour de la Vallée du Haut Bréda” hike passes hamlets and barns that are considered evidence of La Ferrière’s past.

Culture

The Grange de l'Épinay is a typical 18th-century barn. In La Ferrière, there are old troughs and fountains, including in the hamlets of Gibergy, Grand Thiervoz, Petit Thiervoz and Bourgeat.

The chapels at the entrance to La Ferrière include the Chapelle de l'Épinay and the Chapelle Notre Dame des sept douleurs. This chapel is also one of the chapels at the entrance to La Ferrière.

Iron production, which gave the village of La Ferrière its name, was initially carried out using traditional methods and was later developed by the ironmasters of Allevard.

La Martinette can be reached by public transport via the Proximo line 86 from Grenoble to Allevard, followed by Flexo bus 79 or Estibus N98.
