Věžnička: Hotels and Accommodation
A blue-marked hiking trail runs through Věžnička from Jihlava via Polná to Žďár nad Sázavou. Another marked, 10-kilometre hiking route leads across the meadows in front of Věžnička to the village, where it reaches a signpost. On leaving the village, it follows a lightly trafficked road.
Trails
Věžnička can be reached via the Class III road No. 34820 from Polná and via a local road from Ždírec. A designated cycle route also passes through the village: KČT cycle route No. 16 runs from Ždírec to Věžnička and then through the Březina forests to Polná.
Culture
The distinctive local features include Věžnička’s old underground cellars, known as lochy. They are located mainly around the village square and along the main road and are considered to be carefully maintained and still in use. Several farmhouses in Věžnička feature a style associated with the second half of the 19th century.
The chapel of Věžnička stands in a small park beside the village pond. In a niche on its rear wall is a framed statue of the Virgin Mary with the infant Jesus. The chapel also has a bell tower with a hand-operated bell.
History
In 1778, Věžnička was granted the privilege of an hereditary magistrate’s office with all judicial rights.
The Věžnička reconciliation stone stands in the municipal forest about 1 kilometre northwest of the village and approximately 500 metres from the Jamenský potok.
