Plandry: Hotels and Accommodation

The Rantířovsko-starohorský mining water canal, together with the mining and smelting complex, is an important testament to the medieval mining and processing of silver ore. In the terrain, the canal appears as a simple ditch running along the slope of the Jihlava valley.

Culture

A smelting complex and a settlement of miners and ore processors were located in the valley of the Bělokamenský potok. A short section of the bed of the Bělokamenský potok, approximately 10–15 m long, contains visible metallurgical slag, indicating waterwheel-powered smelting furnaces.

Plandry is home to a Baroque pilgrimage complex with the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk, built between 1735 and 1739. It was constructed on the symbolic ground plan of a Star of Saint John; the central square chapel is surrounded by an enclosing wall with five niche chapels. The chapel is accessible during the pilgrimage; organised groups can visit it by prior telephone arrangement.

Nature and Trails

The 35.5 km-long Okrouhlík–Rantířov–Hornická naučná stezka hiking route passes through Plandry. The loop is classified as very demanding and has an elevation gain of 515 metres.

The Zaječí skok nature reserve is located near Plandry, between Plandry and Rantířov, and features thermophilic vegetation.

Zámecká stáj Plandry offers English riding, riding lessons for adult beginners and advanced riders, trail rides, a riding school and a pony school. The Dýňobraní pumpkin harvest festival is traditionally held at Zámecká stáj Plandry.
