Vyskytná nad Jihlavou: Hotels and Accommodation

The Rounek mining site dates from the first half of the 13th century to the beginning of the 15th century. It is unique in the Jihlava mining district due to its exceptionally good state of preservation.

History

The Mining Educational Trail consists of ten stops with information panels. It leads through Hlávkov, Vyskytná nad Jihlavou and Rantířov to Rounek; from the car park by the road, a forest path leads on foot to the mining site.

The Church of Saint Lawrence also combines several historical features: at its core, it is a late Gothic single-nave church that was remodelled in the Baroque style at the beginning of the 18th century. It stands in an enclosed cemetery area with a mortuary and is protected as a cultural monument under registration number 20448/7-5404.

Landscape

In the Vyskytensko landscape, untouched meadows and wetlands alternate with a historic field pattern formed into elongated strips or circular sections. Country lanes and roads are lined with distinctive centuries-old lime trees, wayside crosses, wayside shrines and chapels.

The highest point, U sv. Antonína, reaches 629 m and offers year-round walks through wooded terrain. These walks pass old mining works, military redoubts from 1823 and an important pilgrimage chapel dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua.

Marked cycle route 5215 also passes through Vyskytná nad Jihlavou.

Religious Buildings

The chapel in Hlávkov acquired its present appearance in 2002 following extensive structural and restoration work. Its interior features frescoes depicting Saints Peter, Paul, Joseph, Anne, John the Baptist and Vincent Ferrer, as well as two group scenes. The chapel stands on the village square; Hlávkov is a district of the municipality of Vyskytná nad Jihlavou.

The free-standing Chapel of Saint Adalbert is an example of vernacular religious architecture from the second half of the 18th century. It has a square floor plan, corner pilasters, a rectangular entrance and a four-sided roof that transitions into a bell tower. A children's playground was built in 2012 immediately next to the Chapel of Saint Adalbert in Hlávkov.

Traditions

Vyskytná nad Jihlavou holds a traditional pilgrimage dedicated to Saint Lawrence. There is also an Advent gathering of three municipalities at the Chapel of Saint Anthony in Rounek.
