Landscape and nature
The wooded eastern part of the municipality of Smrčná extends into the protected area of Vysoký kámen u Smrčné. The protected area is home to flower-rich beech forests of the Fagion alliance and scree forests of the Tilio-Acerion alliance, with significant plant and animal species.
In the vicinity of Smrčná are Vysoká Mountain, Březina Mountain, Popický vrch Mountain and Přední skála Mountain, as well as Smetanovy sady park.
Culture and history
The Church of Saint Nicholas already stood in Smrčná and was restored in 1932. Sklárny Victoria Smrčná comprised glassmaking, glass cutting and the production of painted glass.
A historical educational trail through Smrčná takes visitors to the municipality’s historical sights and cultural monuments. A reconciliation stone stands on the right-hand side of the road from Smrčná to Jihlava.

Cycle route No. 5215 runs through the municipality of Smrčná. The 3.5 km-long Včelí educational trail also passes through the municipality’s cadastral area. It has seven stations with information boards.
