The castle of Větrný Jeníkov originated from a fortress built by Želiv Monastery in the first half of the 13th century. After 1719, it was rebuilt as a Baroque chateau; in 1904, it received its current Neo-Gothic form.
Culture
The Museum of Czechoslovak RAF Airmen is located in Větrný Jeníkov and presents the legacy of 2,500 Czechoslovak airmen and soldiers who fought in the ranks of the British Royal Air Force during the Second World War.
The Jewish cemetery south of Větrný Jeníkov is located near Dolní mlýn above the Jiřínský potok stream and is registered as an immovable cultural monument. The Dolní mlýn mill was converted into a smithy. By prior arrangement, a museum tour led to the Dolní mlýn mill; during this museum tour, the group was shown the mill wheel of the Dolní mlýn mill.
The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is also registered as an immovable cultural monument. The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk is a small square chapel built after the middle of the 18th century and protected as a cultural monument since 1958.
