Dlouhé: Hotels and accommodations
Accommodation in Dlouhé
For a wintertime perspective on Dlouhé, its location and elevation are particularly important: The village lies on a plateau at an elevation of 555 m, 9 km southeast of Nové Město na Moravě. Wooded hills stretch all around, giving the surroundings their distinctive landscape setting.
Culture and history
The present-day memorial to the fallen in Dlouhé was erected in 1924 and commemorates those who died in both world wars. The Protestant cemetery was established and built in 1888 by Protestant residents from Dlouhé and Račice; the first person buried there was the citizen Jan Chalupa. In the center of the village stands the Kříž posledního rozloučení, dated 1879. Residents stop there before setting off to a funeral service and bid farewell.
Further crosses mark the local history along the routes connecting the village with the surrounding area: Kříž pod Kopci stands on the road to Radešínská Svratka and is dated 1903. Kříž Omladiny was erected in 1929 by the village's young people on the road to Bobrová. As early as 1874, the construction of a bell tower with a small chapel was decided upon. Rosa Milius-Malovetz, who ran a ladies' institute in Brno, also donated a painting of Saint Florian.
