Hradec-Nová Ves: Hotels and Accommodation

A special insight into the local history of Hradec-Nová Ves can be found at the Hasičské minimuzeum fire brigade mini-museum. It was established in 2008 with the support of the Olomoucký kraj in the former fire station No. 48. On display are a 1955 PRAGA RN fire engine and the motor-driven DS 16 and PS 8 pumps. Information panels describe the development of firefighting technology, the history of the local fire brigade, the principles of firefighting, the traditions surrounding Saint Florian as the patron saint of firefighters, and the history of the municipality. The museum can be visited by prior telephone appointment at 584 423 086.

Culture and history

The Chapel of Saint Anne is also part of the local history. It was rebuilt in 1870 after the previous chapel burned down in 1865. The Peace Monument, bearing the inscription “Památník míru 1945–1960”, stands in Hradec-Nová Ves at a bus stop. Beneath the house where remnants of a former fortification were discovered is a medieval cellar; its date of origin cannot be determined.

Leisure

The multi-purpose sports field is intended for ball games such as nohejbal, volleyball, small-sided football, tennis, badminton, basketball, and soft tennis. It is freely accessible every day from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is closed in winter.

Trails and landscape

Hradec-Nová Ves lies on the Jeseníky section of the Moravská stezka between Mikulovice and Písečná. The Moravská stezka long-distance cycle route runs through Hradec-Nová Ves. A green-marked hiking trail also passes through the northern part of Nová Ves in Hradec-Nová Ves.
