Peřimov lies on the Olšina stream at the foot of the Krkonoše Mountains, in a long, open valley west of Jilemnice.

Landscape and Nature

The lower part of Peřimov’s cadastral area is bordered by the Jizera River along its western edge. The 509-metre-high Hrobka hill lies south of the village.

The Strážník locality is situated 2 km southwest of Peřimov. It includes both the area of the national nature monument and the rocks at the summit of Strážník. The national nature monument protects a unique crystallographic form of quartz known as star quartz. By car, the locality can only be reached with an entry permit; the access road leads to within approximately 250 m of it.

Culture and History

A reinforced-concrete road bridge dating from 1912 crosses the Jizera. It connects the two riverbanks in the cadastral areas of Peřimov and Dolní Sytová.

Local architectural monuments include Chalupa house No. 16. The timber-framed building is a registered cultural monument. Renovations at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s altered its original character; a large living room and a high-quality gable finial have been preserved.

The “Na Skalí” farmstead, house No. 76, was built in 1847 and stands on steeply sloping terrain above the local stream. It is considered a high-quality example of folk architecture of the developed chamber-and-stall type. The former Lukšův mlýn mill also lies on the Peřimovský stream, on the road between Peřimov and Mříčná. The technical monument complex displays features of late Neoclassicism from the mid-19th century.
