Martinice V Krkonosich: Hotels and Accommodations

In Martinice v Krkonoších, railway tradition, cultural monuments, and educational trails come together. The Pojizerský Pacifik railway line runs from Martinice v Krkonoších to Rokytnice nad Jizerou and is a convenient way to take trips into the mountains. Martinice railway station is the highest-altitude station on the line between Trutnov and Chlumec and on the regional line to Rokytnice nad Jizerou.

Culture and Railways

The Martinice Railway Museum is located directly in the station building; its entrance is in the passenger waiting room. The exhibitions focus on Martinice railway station, interlocking and signaling technology, the railway in the surrounding area, and local railway line 042 from Martinice v Krkonoších to Rokytnice nad Jizerou.

Martinice railway station dates back to 1871 and is now a cultural monument. There is also a stone wayside shrine monument in the Martinice cemetery. It was declared a cultural monument in 1998 and subsequently restored.

Educational Trails and Landscape

The Nádraží Martinice educational trail is 1.5 kilometers long, has nine stops, is marked in yellow, and is one of the official hiking trails of the Club of Czech Tourists.

The U Mlejna forest educational trail begins near the wooden Martinický Mill. At seven stops, visitors can learn more about the development of the forest, forest management, and the importance of water in the landscape. The trail runs along the Slané bahno and Na bubně ponds.
