Accommodation in Zdobnice
At the Zdobnice Ski Centre, there is a 100-metre-long slope with a moderate incline, as well as a rope tow suitable for learning the basics of skiing and snowboarding. Evening skiing is regularly offered on the main slope.
Winter and cross-country skiing
A cross-country skiing circuit runs directly through Zdobnice. A suitable starting point is considered to be a location about 200 metres above the Zdobnice church on a yellow-marked hiking trail.
Geographical location
Zdobnice lies in the valley of the river of the same name in the Orlické Mountains. The village is situated in the Orlické Mountains between the Říčky and Deštné ski areas. Most of the municipality of Zdobnice lies within the Orlické Mountains Protected Landscape Area, and the municipality has a distinctly recreational character.
Nature
The Kačerov Nature Reserve in the municipality of Zdobnice protects wet meadows, transitional bogs, springs and mountain meadows that are home to rare and endangered species. The area is freely accessible to visitors; however, entering the bog and spring areas is not recommended.
The U Kunštátské kaple Natural Monument protects a ridge bog with remarkable flora in the Orlické Mountains. It can be viewed from the red-marked ridge trail without entering the protected area. The Pod Zakletým Protected Area preserves the habitat of the critically endangered and protected common butterwort (Pinguicula vulgaris).
The countryside around Zdobnice also invites visitors to go for walks and collect mushrooms outside the main season. Zdobnice offers suitable conditions for hiking and cycling.
Cycling
Singletrack Zdobnice is a network of more than 10 kilometres of one-way mountain-bike trails. The main entrance is located at the fire reservoir in Zdobnice.
At the entrance to Singletrack Zdobnice, there is a practice trail, a pump track, a bicycle service station and a charging station for electric bicycles.
Culture
The Church of the Good Shepherd in Zdobnice was consecrated in 1789. The Kunštátská Chapel, also called the Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, was built in Zdobnice in 1671. The Chapel of Saint Anne in Zdobnice was built in 1838; it offers a view over the entire Zdobnice Valley.
A powerful spring rises near the former Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Malá Zdobnice. Its water is described as allegedly having healing properties.
