Týnec Nad Sázavou: Hotels and Accommodation

A 5.5-kilometre educational trail in Týnec nad Sázavou comprises nine stations with information boards. It starts at the town’s train and bus station and ends in the centre. The boards also include game elements for children and information about geocaching.

Culture and History

Týnec Castle preserves a Romanesque rotunda dating from the turn of the 11th century. Its Gothic rectangular tower houses a lookout tower. The Church of Saints Simon and Jude was originally a Gothic building from the 14th century and was later rebuilt in the Baroque style.

The Zbořený Kostelec castle ruins are freely accessible year-round.

Paths and Exercise

The promenade along the Sázava between the Masaryk Bridge and the campsite offers a paved path with a natural mláto surface. Information boards are located along the route. The promenade also features slides for manually launching canoes and rafts, known as “šupny”.

The connection between the right and left banks of the Sázava is a three-span suspended wooden truss structure. The maximum span of the central section is 65 metres; overall, the connection is 255 metres long and 2.5 metres wide. The inline skating route along the Sázava is part of the educational trail.

Nature and Exercise

Karkulčin háj features an outdoor fitness facility with climbing walls, pull-up bars, exercise equipment and climbing elements.

Čížov Nature Park protects relatively well-preserved forest ecosystems on a steep, dissected slope at the confluence of the Sázava and Čakovický Stream.
