Culture and History

As part of the annual opening of the exhibition season, events featuring demonstrations of historic military technology in motion take place in the museum arena. Among the largest events of the year are the Tankové dny, held each year on the last Saturday at the end of the summer holidays.

Zámek Lešany was rebuilt from an older manor house in the mid-16th century. After 1683, the St. Vitus Chapter at Prague Castle gave Zámek Lešany its current four-winged layout. On the first floor, a guided tour in the Art Nouveau style offers insights into the building; the ground floor and chapel also feature the exhibition “Největší záhady a tajemství světa”.

The František Hrubín Memorial Hall presents an exhibition about the life and work of František Hrubín, who was connected with the region. The memorial is located in the building of the Lešany municipal office.
