Nature

Belianska Cave is located in the Belianske Tatras National Nature Reserve within Tatra National Park. The visitor route through Belianska Cave is 1,370 meters long and includes 860 steps.

An educational trail from Tatranská Kotlina to Belianska Cave is 1,000 meters long, ascends 122 meters in elevation and takes about 25 minutes. In Tatra National Park, hiking is possible on hiking and educational trails outside built-up areas.

Cycling

The Popradská cyklomagistrála can be reached directly from the center of Poprad or from the parking lot by a Tesco supermarket. It is flat and comfortable along its entire length and is suitable for families with children as well as recreational cyclists. The Popradská cyklomagistrála is 25.4 kilometers long, easy, paved and suitable for road and trekking bikes.

An 18-kilometer route leads from the Štrbské Pleso railway station via Tatranská Štrba and Tatranský Lieskovec to Šoldov and back.

Culture and history

The Podtatranské Museum in Poprad displays the preserved wooden chamber, sarcophagus and grave goods of a Germanic prince from around the turn of the 4th and 5th centuries AD. The exhibition at the Podtatranské Museum presents guild vessels, guild symbols, documents, seals and guild chests from numerous traditional crafts. The “Meštianske bývanie” exhibition at the Podtatranské Museum presents a bourgeois study with furniture from the early 20th century.

The remains of the abandoned medieval settlement of Šoldov lie on the edge of the village of Štrba in the foothills of the Tatras. At Šoldov there are partially reconstructed settlement buildings, a monument, an information board and a small seating area.

The Mayská pyramída at AquaCity Poprad features three stainless-steel pools, slides and numerous water attractions such as a wild-water river, a water mushroom, a water hedgehog and water jets.

At the Múzeum Ždiarsky dom, visitors can experience a Ždiar wedding as part of the educational program, try on traditional costumes, take a horse-drawn carriage ride through Ždiar and the surrounding area, taste local specialties and listen to Goral music.
