Culture
The late Classicist Catholic Church of Riečka was built in 1858. It contains a folk Pietà statue. The Chapel of the Seven Sorrows of the Virgin Mary, built between 1790 and 1792, also stands in the cadastral territory of Riečka. The chapel’s original statue was severely damaged by vandalism in 1953; a statue from the church in Riečka is now located there.
A memorial room has been set up in part of house no. 126. Its exhibits come mostly from private collections belonging to residents of the municipality. Numerous 19th-century buildings of folk architecture have been preserved in Riečka.
History
Riečka’s historical economy also included the work of day labourers employed in the metallurgical works of Tajov and Banská Bystrica, as well as in the surrounding mines.
Landscape
The hills and valleys of Riečka are rich in springs; more than 20 surviving springs have been counted. In the surroundings of Riečka, at the Prameň Pátra Mateja spring area, there is a public rest area beside a hiking trail leading to Riečka. This area served as the venue for a community gathering.

Routes
The Barborská cesta offers an alternative hiking route from Uľanka via Riečanské sedlo to Riečka. From Riečka, a marked alternative section of the Barborská cesta continues to Tajov. In the wider regional surroundings of Riečka, there are opportunities for hiking on marked trails to Riečanské sedlo, as well as for cycling on cycling routes.
Festivals and Local Cuisine
Riečanská hostina is considered a traditional festival in Riečka and took place in mid-August. At one edition, goulash, pumpkin, boiled corn and homemade specialities were offered. At one edition of the baking competition in Riečka, five teams baked more than 20 sweet and savoury varieties of yeast cake.
