Moštenica lies on the southern slopes of the western part of the Low Tatras. At the same time, the village is a starting point for reaching the Low Tatras ridge. In Moštenica, natural formations, trails and historic sites stand out as distinct themes.

Nature
Most of the Moštenica municipal area is forested. The Moštenické travertíny site lies in the cadastral area of Moštenica and is a protected natural monument within the protection zone of a national park. Near Moštenické travertíny there is a still-active travertine terrace comprising five water outlets, which is protected. The Moštenické travertíny travertine complex forms an approximately 500-metre-long cascade with six tiers and lies at elevations between 650 and 800 metres.
Trails and Springs
The Moštenické travertíny area is used for recreation, but is not accessible via either a hiking trail or an educational trail. A recreational centre developed around the Moštenická kyslá mineral spring. A hiking trail leads from Moštenica through the Uhliarska Valley, Moštenická Kyslá, Zubová, Hadlanka and Kozí chrbát to Hiadeľské sedlo and takes 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Culture and History
Traditional home production in Moštenica included woodworking and linen weaving. The Moštenica cemetery contains the graves of fallen partisans. A monument to murdered Hungarian soldiers and a civilian victim stands by the former lime kiln in Moštenica.
The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Moštenica is a Neoclassical church built in 1846–1847. Its main altar features a Crucifixion painting created by J. B. Klemens in 1846. The church is considered to be well preserved and continues to serve its religious purpose.
The former mining office in Moštenica is a Renaissance building with a U-shaped floor plan, constructed in 1561. It is remembered as the site of a military hospital during the Slovak National Uprising.
Hradište is another historical site. Hradište is a hilltop settlement from the Late and Final Bronze Age that was fortified by what was probably a ditch. A cremation burial of the Lusatian culture was discovered near Hradište.
