Near Stipshausen stands the 31.1-meter-high Idarkopf Tower. The observation tower has 170 steps and nine rest platforms and offers views over the EdelSteinLand and the Hunsrück hills.

The tower can be reached on foot, not by car. Starting points include the Idarwald hiking car park or the Stipse car park near Stipshausen; from there, the path to the tower is approximately 2 kilometers long.

Culture

The Protestant Church in Stipshausen was built in 1778–79. Its interior is designed in the rural Baroque style of the Hunsrück and includes paintings on the altar, ceiling, and gallery. It also houses a Stumm organ, which was inaugurated in 1861. Two windows installed in 2014 were made entirely of agate by gemstone artists Bernd and Tom Munsteiner; they are considered the only windows in the world made entirely of agate.

The area surrounding Stipshausen is home to sites including the ruins of Schmitburg, Wartenstein Castle, the ruins of Altburg, and the ruins of Hellkirch.
