The National Park Cycle Crossing 6 begins at the sports field in Leisel. From there, it runs via Jagdhaus Leisel, Hüttgeswasen and Hängende Birke to the Erbeskopf National Park Gate.
Cycle Paths
The National Park Cycle Crossing 6 mainly uses rough gravel and includes steep climbs and descents as well as a short asphalt section. Off-road-capable bicycles or mountain bikes are recommended for the National Park crossings. Where routes overlap, signs and numbers make navigation easier.
Jagdhaus Leisel offers a viewpoint along the National Park Cycle Crossing 6 for a short break. The Erbeskopf National Park Gate is reached via a forest track in the Idarwald Forestry Office area; a bistro is available there.
The RadLust HimmelReich Loop leads through fields and forest via Oberbrombach and onward to Leisel.
Hiking and Nature
Four circular hiking trails around Leisel are promoted as hiking options on the sunny side of Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park.
Culture and History
The 2.5-kilometre Götterallee/Sironaweg trail between Leisel and Schwollen features sculptures of Roman deities and runs directly along the RadLust HimmelReich Loop. The Kipp burial mound and the Heiligenbösch Church are also located directly on this loop.
The Heiligenbösch Church stands on the ruins of an ancient villa complex. The surviving walls and room sequences belong to the bathing wing of the villa.
