Kaltenborn: Hotels and Accommodation

The Catholic parish church of St. Servatius in Kaltenborn dates in its present form from 1833. Stones from the ruins of the former local castle were used to build it; the church tower is older.

Culture

Above the village, on the road toward Hochacht, the St. Mary’s wayside chapel stands beside a forest. Benches are provided there for a short outing and quiet contemplation.

Landscape and Surroundings

The Hohe Warte and the Schöneberg are located near Kaltenborn. Schloss Bürresheim, the Gänsehalsturm, the Saberg and the Perlerkopf are situated in the surrounding area. The wider regional area also includes the Löwenburg and the ruins of Neu Blankenheim.

Hiking

The third and final stage of the Eifelleiter is considered a challenging hike with impressive views. It leads through the Steinrausch adventure forest, tranquil forests and small Eifel villages to the Hohe Acht and the Kaiser Wilhelm Tower. Along the route, there are expansive views and rock formations.
