Rodder: Hotels and Accommodation

Culture

The St. Rochus Chapel in Rodder was first mentioned in 1428. During its reconstruction in 1907, the lava surround of the round-arched portal from 1745 was reused. The building is a quarry-stone structure with four bays and a recessed choir.

Its furnishings include two bells bearing the years 1481 and 1558, as well as a Baroque wooden altar from the 17th century. The altar features a painting of the Crucifixion; above it, Mary is depicted as Queen of Heaven. There is also a wayside shrine with an image of the Madonna on Bergstraße.

Hiking

The “In the Footsteps of Old Mills” hiking route leads through Rodder and onward to Wirft, which is 8 kilometers away. Along the regional route, the Hahnensteiner Mill and Gillig's Mill can be visited by prior appointment.

Along the route, mountain ranges with wide views alternate with waterways and forest sections. The path is marked throughout with its trail symbol. As a multi-day route, it is 70.1 kilometers long and classified as having a moderate level of difficulty.
