The Extratour Dernbachwiesen leads through the Hörre, with forests, open landscapes and views across several valleys.

Mittenaar was formed in 1971 through the voluntary merger of Ballersbach, Bicken and Offenbach; Bellersdorf was incorporated in 1972.
