The Haigerseelbach circular hiking trail is 10.6 kilometers long and passes nine highlights. Along the way, it offers views over the Dill Valley, Kalteiche, Haigerseelbach and Allendorf. At 10.6 kilometers, this circular walk is easy to distinguish in length from the Rothaarsteig’s 154 kilometers; the two figures refer to different trails and types of route.

Cycling through the Balkan Tunnel

The Balkan Tunnel is a 1,114-meter-long cycling tunnel between Langenaubach and Breitscheid. Its seasonal opening is important when planning a cycling trip: for nature conservation reasons, the tunnel is open only from April 15 through October. The operator or responsible authority may adjust this period, so check the current opening status before your trip.

Textile History in Haigerseelbach

The lace and linen museum in Haigerseelbach illustrates the process from the flax plant to finished linen fabric. Its exhibits include a working loom. The museum also displays an extensive collection of antique lace and presents techniques such as bobbin lace making and crochet, as well as the Occhi technique native to the region. The museum visit focuses both on processing flax into linen and on different types of lacework.
