Getting around on foot and by bike
The 4.1 km walking and cycling path was officially opened in September 2025. It connects Oberpframmern’s western edge with the roundabout on Harthauser Straße and can be used on foot or by bike. Its length and endpoints give you a clearly defined section to plan around. In the eastern part of the municipality, numerous country lanes and a few small ponds invite you to enjoy longer walks and bike rides. Here, the focus is less on a single route and more on the combination of paths and small bodies of water. The distinction is practical for planning: the western walking and cycling path has specified endpoints and a known length, while the country lanes and ponds in the eastern part of the municipality offer a wider choice for longer walks and bike rides.
The TSV Oberpframmern hiking program for 2026 is also open to non-members. Individual outings and dates may change; check the details before taking part. The program is an alternative to choosing your own route: it lists specific hiking dates, while on the paths in the eastern part of the municipality, you can choose the direction of your walks or bike rides yourself.
Landscape and culture in the wider Ebersberg destination
The wider Ebersberg destination also has its own landscape and cultural highlights. Climb the 169 steps of the observation tower in the Ebersberg Forest for views across the entire Alpine foothills, from the Berchtesgaden Alps to the Allgäu. On especially clear days, you can even see distant peaks over 3,000 metres high. This elevated viewpoint offers a different perspective from the paths in Oberpframmern: at the Ebersberg Forest, the expansive panorama takes centre stage, and long-distance views depend on especially clear conditions.
The Forest and Environment Museum has stood right beside the Ebersberg Forest since 2004 and focuses on the history of forest use and forest ecology. The Ebersberg Forest Environmental Education Centre is an institution recognized with the Bavarian “Umweltbildung.Bayern” quality seal for events in education for sustainable development. Events are held mainly outdoors and in the adjacent forest; visits by school classes and other groups are possible. In Grafing, the city museum lists its opening hours as Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m.; it is closed on public holidays.
