The Site Nordique de Lamoura offers cross-country skiing and marked snowshoeing routes. Downhill skiing is also possible in Lamoura via the La Serra lifts. The town is the starting point of the Transjurassienne cross-country ski race, which runs for 68 km to Mouthe in the Doubs département.

Nature and trails
Lac de Lamoura lies at an altitude of 1,155 m and is the highest of the lakes in the Jura. The Sentier du Lac de Lamoura runs around the lake. The trail crosses wetlands and a peat bog via a wooden footbridge without affecting these sensitive habitats. The Sentier du Lac de Lamoura also features six information panels on the geology of the valley, the former use of hydropower, and the aquatic life of the lake.
The beach at Lac de Lamoura is supervised in July and August. On 27 July 2026, swimming and water sports activities in Lac de Lamoura had been prohibited since 18 July 2026 after anatoxins were detected in the swimming area.
Les hauteurs de Lamoura is a moderately difficult 48-km circular route in the Jurassic Vélo Tours network, passing through Lajoux, Prémanon and Lamoura. The route runs through high-altitude landscapes featuring combes, peat bogs, wildflower meadows and mountain forests around Lac de Lamoura. North of Pièce d’Aval lies the main part of the Forêt du Massacre; a prefectural decree protecting biotopes regulates travel there on foot, on skis and by car.
Culture and history
The Musée des Lapidaires presents the history of stone cutting in the Haut-Jura, where it has been practiced from the 18th century to the present day. The museum offers a 1.5- to 2-hour guided tour with a documentary film for groups of at least 12 adults. During school holidays, children’s workshops titled “Le monde des pierres” take place.
The Fête de l’Abonde takes place in Lamoura every year on 15 August and features street theatre as well as insights into local crafts.

Gaïa Loisirs in Lamoura is a family leisure park with suspended nets in the trees, large wooden games, and activities on foot, on horseback, with ponies or donkeys.
