Pic de l’Aigle is 993 metres high and overlooks the Valley of the Four Lakes. The access path to Pic de l’Aigle begins in the village of La Chaux-Du-Dombief, is 2 kilometres long and climbs 90 metres in elevation. A one-hour hike there and back leads from the car park to Pic de l’Aigle.
The family trail at Cascades du Hérisson begins at the Saut Girard – Lac d’Ilay car park in Ilay, La Chaux-Du-Dombief, and is 2.6 kilometres long. At first, the route follows the Le Hérisson river, then continues through the forest.
Culture and History
The Chapelle Saint-Vincent was built in the village of Ilay after the Saint-Vincent-de-la-Motte priory, also known as the Priory of Ilay, was destroyed during the wars of the 17th century. The chapel houses a statue of the Virgin Mary from the former priory. The Saint-Point parish church is located in La Chaux-Du-Dombief.
