Sklené has cross-country ski trails towards Světnov, Škrdlovice and Velké Dářko. The connection between Sklené and Tři Studně is usually groomed only for classic cross-country skiing because of a section through the forest.
Landscape
Sklené is located in the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area and in the highest part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. The European watershed between the Elbe and Danube runs near Sklené.
Nature
The Olšina u Skleného Nature Reserve protects floodplain forest ecosystems, meadows and pastures, Nardus grasslands, as well as fens and transitional bogs. The Lemperský Stream rises from a spring in Sklené.
The mountains Žákova hora, Devět Skal, Světka and Rosička are located in the vicinity of Sklené.
History and townscape
The first written mention of Sklené dates from 1407. A stone cross below the chapel in Sklené bears the year 1832. The name Sklené is interpreted as meaning that a settlement of glassmakers was established here near the vanished Bratroňovice farmstead. Sklené also has a fire station.
