Culture and History
The church of St. Michael the Archangel acquired its present-day Baroque appearance through a renovation carried out between 1720 and 1730. The church is used for exhibitions and concerts. The Chapel of the Resurrection was built in 1884 in the municipal cemetery in Brandov.
Brandov Castle – Loupežnická skála was probably founded in the second half of the 13th century. Due to its location near the national border on a trade route to Saxony, it may have served as a guard post where customs duties were collected.
Transport Connections
Brandov has a border crossing for private motor vehicles as well as a bus connection with neighboring Olbernhau. The Svídnická Valley Railway was opened on May 2, 1927. The Brandau stop served exclusively passenger traffic.
