History
Originally, Hora Svaté Kateřiny was a mining settlement. Silver was already being mined on the slopes of Městský vrch before 1520, followed later by copper. Mikulášská štola was used for mining silver and copper in the Middle Ages.

Guided tours of Mikulášská štola are regularly offered without prior registration. Currently, approximately 420 m have been restored and are accessible to the public. Kostel sv. Kateřiny was built in 1611–1612 and remodeled in the Baroque style in 1785. A Pietà statue dating from 1729 stands in front of Kostel sv. Kateřiny.
